Plein Air/Studio Seminar

August 23rd to 27th, 2010 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

New and exciting ways to create beautiful art is the hallmark of master painter Marilyn Timms SFCA SCA.
Having explored transparent watercolors intensively, Timms has turned her formidable energies to working with acrylic
paints in the flowing, elegant watercolour way that she is known for. For those who find watercolors difficult,
this approach removes many of the barriers they face. For experienced acrylic painters, this is something exciting
and new to try. Over the five days of plein air painting, participants will receive step by step instructions and feedback
so they can immerse themselves in this unique method of wet-into-wet painting - using the best of both mediums
to craft beautiful works of art. All water media are welcome.
If the weather doesn't co-operate, we have a comfortable studio to work in.

Mastering Acrylics Qualicum Beach Oct. 21 – Dec. 9, 2010

Thursday mornings 9:30 AM to Noon Oct. 21 – Dec. 9, 2010 in Qualicum Beach BC.
They say that in order to play good tennis, you need to play with the best players - the same is true in painting. Get really good at working in acrylics under the thorough (and fun) guidance of expert painter Marilyn Timms SFCA SCA. Using heavy body acrylics in a traditional manner, you will master a variety of simple yet effective techniques that will take your efforts to a whole new level. All are welcome but be prepared for an intense learning experience and register early as this will fill quickly.
